Blue Velvet Shrimp
Blue Velvet shrimp are light blue Neocaridina originally developed from Red Rili lines. They add a striking blue variation to any Neocaridina aquarium, and one of their most unique features is the bright green eggs carried by berried females—an eye-catching contrast against their blue coloration. Blue Velvets thrive under standard Neocaridina parameters with a pH above 7, and they do well on any inert substrate. Providing natural cover such as wood, leaves, and cones encourages biofilm growth and supports both adults and juveniles. Mosses and other live plants also make excellent additions to their setup. These shrimp readily graze on biofilm and algae, and they accept a wide range of shrimp-specific prepared foods.
