Bloody Mary Shrimp
Bloody Mary shrimp are a red variant of Neocaridina, similar to Cherry shrimp. The key difference is where their color comes from: while Cherry shrimp display red pigment in their shells, Bloody Marys have transparent shells and carry their intense red coloration in their underlying tissue. Their exact origin is somewhat debated—some breeders argue they’re simply Cherry shrimp with red tissue, while others claim true Bloody Marys were developed from dwarf Chocolate shrimp. Based on observations from our own colonies and feedback from trusted breeders, we conclude that Bloody Marys are best defined as transparent-shelled shrimp with striking, deep red tissue.
